Adulthood is a time in which we are presented with new challenges, successes, losses and decisions to be made. The guidance that was once provided to us in our younger years has been replaced with autonomy and personal responsibility. Overwhelming feelings of anxiety and depression can be triggered by the struggles of navigating relationships, careers, parenting, and grief. Some people describe feeling “stuck” and out of control of their lives. In adult therapy sessions, we will focus on many different ways of creating a fulfilling life by learning to identify needs, communicate effectively, cope with anxiety and depressive feelings, and create personal boundaries.
